The brochure, which is printed in a practical waistcoat pocket format, contains illustrations and brief descriptions of the most important sights in Montabaur. From "point to point", interested parties can explore the most important sights on their own using a map of the town centre. There is also information about the history of Montabaur and leisure activities in and around Montabaur.
The brochure is also available in English, French and Dutch language and can be downloaded here.
Webcam
Many thousands of webcams worldwide transmit live images of the most interesting places in cities, sights and beautiful landscapes. Now Montabaur is part of it! In a private initiative, Rainer Bloedhorn-Dausner, Managing Director of URSA-Chemie in Montabaur, has installed a photo webcam with a view of the town of Montabaur on the roof of a new production hall in the ‘Alter Galgen’ industrial estate. The public can now enjoy the marvellous view of the town at any time.
The photo webcam is characterised by the use of a real SLR camera with high-resolution images of up to 24 megapixels. In contrast to IP cameras, the photo webcam delivers good images even at night or in unfavourable lighting conditions. A photo of the town and Montabaur Castle is taken every 10 minutes, around the clock, i.e. over 50,000 times a year. The operator of the facility hopes that a few unusual weather phenomena can also be captured. Due to the south-facing direction, the best shots can be expected in the morning, evening and at night.
Citizens can take a look at the webcam before travelling to work or if they are otherwise interested to find out about the weather situation in Montabaur. Rainer Bloedhorn-Dausner is planning to expand the website with informative and editorial contributions. The images from the camera can be viewed on the website https://blickmontabaur.de.
