Now it's getting tricky! The Montabaur Tourist Information Centre is offering a new city experience in the form of a mystery tour: While the amateur detectives solve a complicated kidnapping case, you'll get to know the town along the way. Whether it's a classic city tour, an adventure tour with the night watchman, a ‘lying tour’ with the Baroness of Monte Taboro or now as a sleuth on an investigative tour - there are many ways to explore the city of Montabaur.
The case to be solved is quickly told: Daniel Botros is a shoemaker in Montabaur and a passionate inventor. He is due to give a presentation on his latest invention at a conference in the Hotel Schlemmer. But shortly beforehand, he disappears without a trace and vanishes from the face of the earth. Has he been kidnapped? If so, who is behind it - and with what motive? Clever investigators solve this case while at the same time getting to know the cobbler's town with its sights and unknown corners.
Anyone who wants to follow the trail sends a text message to the "Operations Centre" and becomes a detective. They are equipped with a detective file containing a description of the case, the victim's profile and the names of suspicious people around him as well as a map on which the places that need to be visited to solve the case are marked. The castle, the Wolfsturm, the footpath to the ICE railway station, the cobbler boy on Konrad-Adenauer-Platz: there are clues everywhere that fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and lead to the solution of the mysterious story. The tour starts at the cobbler's shop in Sauertalstraße. All other points can be visited in any order.
Daniel's daughter Anne has raised the alarm. She wants her father to be found. Or is this a hoax? Lawyer Sabrina Wechsler is professionally involved with the shoemaker and his invention. Kristian Bois, an employee of a Frankfurt fashion company, flees when he is questioned. Minka Teuben works as a hotel manageress at the conference venue and is no stranger to the scene.
It's all so complicated that you shouldn't set out on the trail alone. A team can share the work, find its way out of dead ends and develop new approaches together. But above all, it's great fun to crack this nut together! Any clues found are sent to the control centre by text message. If the investigation comes to a standstill, helpful tips are sent from there. When your head is spinning and overtime is imminent, you should take a break - preferably in a restaurant or café in the historic city centre. At the end of the two-hour tour, one thing is certain: that's it! No, she did it! The arrest warrant code reveals whether the team has done a good job.
And this is how the crime city tour works: Interested sleuths come to the Montabaur Tourist Information Centre on the Grosser Markt. Here you will receive the crime thriller file and the solution code. If you prefer, you can also order the pack online at:
