The imposing brick building in neo-Gothic style dates back to 1870 and is the third town hall to be built on this site. The town hall is also known as the "Red Lion". While the lion symbolises the power of the lord of the court, the colour red stands for the administration of justice. In ancient times, court was held in front of the town hall. The mayor's office is still located here today.
