Car-free Gelbach Day

A special highlight in the nature experience year in the southern Westerwald is the car-free Gelbach day. On this day, the entire valley is closed to motorised traffic from 09:00 to 18:00. The Gelbachtal valley between Montabaur and Weinähr then belongs to cyclists, inline skaters, hikers and Nordic walkers.

Buchfinken-Gelbachtal cycle tour

The 33.4 km long circular cycle route starts and finishes in Wirzenborn in the Gelbachtal valley. From there, the route leads via Gackenbach and Horbach through the Buchfinkenland and then via Welschneudorf, Oberelbert and Untershausen back to Wirzenborn. From the short ‘Montabäurer Acht’ (19 km), to the ‘Buchfinkentour’ (53 km), to the ‘Große Westerwaldrundfahrt’ (77 km) - there is something suitable for all cycling fans.
