Enjoy views and nature, discover art and immerse yourself in history: This is what hikers experience on the GelbACHTrail. The route is almost 22 kilometres long and leads from Montabaur in the southern Westerwald to Obernhof an der Lahn. There are also a further EIGHT hiking loops to explore along the route, which are included in the name of the trail.
Connoisseurs divide the tour through the valley into two sections so that they have enough time for discoveries along the way and views of the countryside. You can expect to find plenty of unspoilt nature here, as the area is part of the Nassau Nature Park. The GelbACHTrail offers a soothing time-out in the countryside, far away from the hustle and bustle and noise, with respect for flora and fauna, but also for yourself and your own well-being! This includes views of the Gelbachtal valley from the heights, from sections of the GelbACHTrail that run along ‘balconies’ or on paths through the floodplain. It is a sublime feeling to look out over the Lahntal valley with Obernhof and its vineyards almost at the end of the GelbACHTrail.
The following eight hiking trails of varying lengths connect to the left and right of the trail and offer the opportunity to explore nature, culture and history:
